New Arkadenverse Online Supplements: Arkaden Investigations

Hey peoples. I know, I know, I’m horrible at releasing Arkadenverse material at any fast rate. A few hundred pages can take a year or two working all on my own, and even then I end up having errata and typos that get called out.

But what if I told you some Arkaden material was coming to the blog, rather than by PDF? Material with no game rules, but information on the setting nonetheless? Would you be excited?

If you are, don’t worry, this isn’t a tease! It’s a thing I’m actually going to be doing with Arkaden Investigations, an homage to the D&D “Ecology of” articles of yore and Pathfinder’s similar “Monsters Revisited” concept. In Arkaden Investigations, an in-universe dialogue of some sort on the creature at hand, ranging from potentially biased personal diaries to magibiologist manifestos, will provide more information on classic Modern SRD creatures used in the setting as well as the monsters of the Molti Segreti Nascosti Core Rulebook and Supplemental-Cut Creatures. Expect the first installment soon…like, tonight or tomorrow soon.

 

Arkaden Supplemental-Cut Creatures Released

Yep, there first supplement for the Molti Segreti Nascosti campain setting is out, and can be downloaded here. And with that, I think I may be taking a little break from Arkaden writing again. Maybe get some blog posts done, read some stuff I’ve been neglecting, etc., etc.

If it wasn’t obvious by the core book, I planned on revisiting the Arkadenverse further. I’ve got plenty of titles in my head to keep it up for a long while…but let’s just focus on the next couple of years or so first, eh? The following are a few titles that are in my “work on before any other writings” lineup.

 

Molti Segreti Core Rulebook Released…Again

While I’m sure that errata page on this website will still be getting use when I find more failures in my writing, I’ve managed to empty it for the moment by fixing those errors, as well as decidedly more egregious mistakes I managed to find. So now, the flagship of the Arkadenverse is once again sailing for download (and will overwrite the old file, just FYI…it’s supposed to) with a revised PDF.

Molti Segreti Nascosti Core Rulebook Errata

In spite of having some keen-eyed proofreaders, some errors happened to slip past my gaze when creating the Molti Segreti Nascosti Core Rulebook. As such, as is done by professional RPG creators (even though I’m not one), I’ve provided a list of errata that will be updated as errors are spotted and I’m informed of them.

Molti Segreti Nascosti Core Rulebook Preview 4: Things of the Bestiary

Last time, I showed a excerpts of information given on some of the creatures from the official d20 Modern books that made it into the Arkadenverse. This time, I’ll be giving a handful of the fluff descriptions for creatures taken from various Open Game License sources as well as homebrewed by me from scratch for placement in the MSNCR. What’s the full list of monsters, and what are their game statistics? Well, those will have to wait for the very soon-to-be release!

 

Molti Segreti Nascosti Core Rulebook Preview 3: Classic Critters in the Arkadenverse

With the MSNCR very much nearing completion – yes, really – I figured it’d be nice to give some more previews, since the last was…a while back, actually. This time, you’ll be getting a few snippets of where some of the creatures featured in official Wizards of the Coast d20 Modern titles (well, the ones that made it into the Open Game License, at least) fit into the Arkadenverse.

 

Molti Segreti Nascosti Core Rulebook Preview 2: Creator’s Notes Part 1

Most reviewers, myself included, tend to separate writing in an RPG title between “fluff” (story information) and “crunch” (game specific information such as stats); while this is technically true, it’s also a bit crude in its labeling. For instance, the upcoming Molti Segreti Nascosti Core Rulebook will have what I call “Creator’s Notes”. These bars will be set outside of the standard text and note, in addition to certain extra facets of the Arkadenverse that bridge crunch and fluff, my personal thoughts on utilizing certain non-standard materials in the campaign setting. As such, here is the first of a few previews of some of the Creator’s Notes sections for your viewing.
